I don't have anything profound to say for the past month and a half.
Most of May, I was antisocial on any secluded beach I could find by my house simply because I just want to get away from the everyone.

I travel every few days.
But going around the globe doesn't beat alone time, at home, without a care in the world.
This summer. I'm a Bohemian.
So if you ever can't get a hold of me, it's because I'm busy being free-spirited and I really just don't wanna talk.
**My ocean alter-ego is "Scuba-Steve"**
Hence the term: ""Scuba-steveing""" for when I'm out in the water.
I don't have a lot to say other than I've been thinking a lot about summer fever which brings LOVE.
A fabulous thing it is to be in love.
*probably the only wedding I'll go to this whole summer*
The MOST gorgeous, intimate wedding I've ever, ever been to.
Congrats to my relative (met a whole lot of aunties/uncles/cousins at Max & Mona's wedding) and to the beautiful couple and having such an amazing reception.

“Just for future reference, don’t use words like ‘love’ anymore. It’s a very sensitive word and it wears out quickly. Romeo barely says it, but John Hinckley filled up a whole journal with it. To put it into your terms, it’s a currency that’s easily devalued. Pretty soon you’re saying it whenever you hang up the phone or whenever you leave. It turns into an apology. Then it’s an excuse. Some assholes want it to be a bulletproof vest: don’t hate me; I love you. But mostly it just means—more. More, more—give me something more. A couple of years from now, when you’re on your own completely, if you really fall in love, if it really comes to that—and I pity you if it does—you have to look right down into the black of her eyes, right down into the emptiness in there and feel everything, absolutely everything she needs and you have to be willing to drown in it. You’d have to want to be crushed, buried alive. Because that’s what real love feels like—choking. They used to bury some women in their wedding dresses, you know. I thought it was because all those husbands were too cheap to spring for another gown, but now it makes sense: love is your first foot in the grave. That’s why the second most abused word is ‘forever.’”

I'm lucky I think.
3 profound "loves" in my life that my heart was on an ultimate high.
The first from high school.
The second I learned the most.
The third was I got lucky.
So here's an ode to summer love in 3 different times of my life :-)
The First. The summer before 12th grade we had talked every night on the phone for hours about anything and everything. When we'd be in person we hardly even made eye contact because we were both so shy. We snuck out of the house once and drove around and around talking. We drove up to houses and made way far-fetched plans about how our life was gonna be in the future. We were typical teenagers summer lovin'. I loved his family because they reminded me so much of my own. I don't even know what there is to talk about thats so important when your a teenager, seeing as my life now I'm in charge of it and theres so much crap to take care of and do. But those summers in high school were carefree. And I wish I could go back to that time when I didn't have to pay bills, take care of ish, or work. All I did was love someone else.
The Second. Some years ago, during the summer I met him. I hadn't felt anything as intensely for anyone, as when I first saw him. The night after our first date, we had spent nearly every single night with each other for the next few years. That summer we met, I changed in so many ways. I *grew up*. I woke up each morning excited to think what we could spend the day doing, or where we could go at nights. I think that summer we watched every single movie that came out in theaters. We had our first dinner at Subway in Kailua and spent the entire night trying to get the hell out of La'ie. One night we spent driving and I popped the tire driving into a brick slab that had a large metal rod sticking out. We pulled over to the side of the road, slept in the car overnight, put on the spare, and drove home in the morning cracking up. I stopped laughing when I realized how much tires cost. It was the first time a guy ever paid for me. Whether it was dinner or shopping. We were both the most selfless that first summer together. I miss being so carefree like those days of college summer were.
The Third. On a particular summer night, I was curled up next to him listening to the pouring rain outside on the window. The entire night, felt absolutely and utterly peaceful. By then I'd forgotten how soothing "peaceful" feels. Most nights that summer were like these. Just laying in pure peace. I wouldn't have traded anything to be anywhere else even if the nights didn't last long. Late night drives in air conditioning and fabulous eateries watching live music left me on such an unreal buzz. It was a belssing to not have a single care in the world except being with someone and being free. These short summer nights with him were complete bliss. It was a reminder to me of how I'd love to spend each summer for the rest of my life, with someone.
Presently I don't feel anything. I like it that way. It gives me time to just be myself and do whatever I want. But for the summer, I hope you all find love. And I hope that you're not stuck settling or unhappy. It's Summer. Everyone should be happier.
